From description, the issue happens when the user tries to may changes in SharePoint and personal OneDrive documents from the local OneDrive sync binder on Mac. (If I misunderstand annihilation, experience free to correct me)
The effect may be related to Role enshroud, y'all may let the user effort steps beneath:
1.Firstly shut all Office apps.
ii.Open Finder, press Command+Shift+grand, in the window that opens, enter ~/Library/Containers
in the Containers folder, move these folders to Desktop:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
iii.Open a document from OneDrive sync binder and edit it to check the issue.
And yous may let the user try following steps and see if effect notwithstanding happens:
1.Click OneDrive cloud icon from top menu on Mac, click Help & Settings.
2.In Office tab, uncheck the option "Utilise Function applications to sync Function files that I open"
three.Try to open a document and make changes, come across if error bulletin appears.
If consequence persists, for troubleshooting, could you please confirm information beneath?
one.If the user goes to SharePoint Online and personal OneDrive Online in browser to edit documents, does issue happen?
2.What is the version of user's OneDrive app? And what is the version of Office app? xvi.46?
iii.Does issue happen when the user edits some specific documents or all documents? (what about editing other Role files? Excel/PowerPoint?)

Hi Jim, Nosotros ruled out the internet connection issue every bit information technology occurs when the user is at the office too where we accept at least above 50mbps download and upload speed.

Howdy Tina,
Apologies for the filibuster in getting back to you. We did remove office cache few days ago unfortunately it didn't assist. It happens randomly with different documents and the user doesn't utilise online portal. Here is how the error message looks similar.

As only 1 user is having the consequence, to check if information technology's an upshot happening in a specific Mac user profile, you lot may let the user effort to switch to another account then log in Mac, so go to cheque if error message withal appears when he opens documents.
